What am I doing wrong? I'm not losing any more weight!?

Posted in Digital Food Scale on March 6th, 2011 by Andrew – 2 Comments

I’m 47 years old male. 5ft 9in. Since November last year, I went from 230 pounds, down to 200 pounds.
I go to the gym, and do cardio exercises for 2+ hours a day, 6 days a week.
I wear a polar ft4 heart rate monitor, and burn on average 1320 calories a day at the gym.
I count my calories, and monitor them at a website. I NEVER consume more than 1500 calories of food or liquids a day.
Since about February 20th, I have been 200 pounds. I have stopped losing weight. How is this possible!?! I have a digital scale, and my weight varies by less than half a pound every day for the last 2 weeks.
As an experiment, yesterday I burned 1466 calories at the gym, in a 2 hour period. My total caloric intake yesterday was 1429 calories. And this morning, I weighed .4 ounces heavier than yesterday!
I know it is not the scale, because my clothes dont feel any looser. What is going on here?!
I eat lots of whole grains oatmeal, beans, eggs, and chicken breast. Admittedly I do not eat enough fresh vegetables, but they are really expensive right now.

why did i gain 8-10 pounds in 3 days?

Posted in Digital Food Scale on February 14th, 2011 by Andrew – 7 Comments

my starting weight was 127 (iv been cutting down my food intake and working out; pilates: 40 minutes, walking: 30 minutes). I think Im starting my period in about a week to ten days. i havent exceeded my daily calories to more than 2000 per day. I was hoping to AT LEAST maintain and yet i gained all this "watery" weight. for instance, this morning i weighed 132, i went to the bathroom and did pilates and went back on the scale and i dropped two more pounds going to 130 pounds. and about 10 minutes ago i weighed myself and i weigh 135!! 3 or 4 days ago i weighed 127 (i think i may have even weighed 126). my scale isnt a digital it has a dial. please let me know when il go back down to 127 because i workout 40 minutes a day, i just started running 3 miles 6 days ago in the morning around 6 am, and walk 30 minutes a day and do weights 3 days a week. i drink SO MUCH WATER AND TEA AND TWO CUPS OF COFFEE IN THE MORNING. let me know when this all will go down.

Cats gained weight despite being on new diet – help?

Posted in Digital Food Scale on December 11th, 2010 by Andrew – 8 Comments

Hello,

I adopted two female 8-year old cats at the beginning of the summer. The old owner used to feed them one full cup of bad dry food once a day in the morning and the cats were at a decent weight. When I took over the cats, slowly their begging got me to feed them a little extra at night. Then I tried switching to Purina One Healthy Weight dry food and they did that for a while. Then I started reading that I should be feeding them a higher-grade food, so I switched to EVO Core Dry food (which is grain free) and also started giving them some wet food too. But at the recommended amount that they suggested to get the cats to lose some weight. I am only feeding the cats 3 to 4 ounces of food total a day, yet they have ballooned up to 13 or more pounds.

I seriously have a digital scale, and measure out their meals. I am reading literature and listening to all the advice about cat food that I get. Each cat gets one ounce of dry food in the morning, then one ounce of wet food when I come home from work, and then around midnight they get another ounce of dry food, sometimes they get a little more wet food in between. In any case it comes out to 1/2 cup of food or less a day. Meanwhile we play chase the string to burn off calories as well (admittedly I can only play for 20 minutes a day really.)

In any case they just seem to be gaining weight. One cat is fat and feels like she is solid as a rock.

I just want to get these cats under 12 lbs so they arent obese. So what do you suggest I try next?

Oh No.. I was doing so well D:?

Posted in Kitchen Weighing Scales on September 16th, 2010 by Andrew – 5 Comments

The other night I made a diet plan (that I spent like 4 hours on). And I was supposed to not eat today (look I know it’s not healthy but it’s quick and I don’t care if it’s unhealthy) but the only thing we have in the house is soda (Dr.pepper to be specific and coke), and tap water.
I had a drink of tap water twice today ( to take my medicine) and that’s all I had until 10:00 pm.. I was doing so well :(
I’m 5’2 and I weigh… 212.
Last year I went from 218 to 173 but then I started eating more and more and now I’m morbidly huge again. I can’t keep living like this. I don’t even know why I ate though… like I wasn’t thinking. I got back on the scale and it went from 208(this morning) and then 212 D: I am going to kill myself if I don’t lose weight. I hate meeting people because I can’t get a second chance for a first impression and being fat shows: lazyness, nastyness, no willpower, selfishness, glutton. UGH I HATE MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can I keep myself out of the kitchen?

And btw I have tried excersizing but I feel like people is staring at me(even if I’m in my room…alone)
See i lost track of what i was talking about… I hate tap water because it tastes like… something like blood and soda has so much calories. so i had a soda and i went ahead and got a PLATE FULL of food. :(
I do see a flippin’ professional :<
Why must people judge and not answer a question???

How to deal with an eating disorder on my own?!?

Posted in Kitchen Weighing Scales on September 11th, 2010 by Andrew – 2 Comments

This may be kinda long but here goes.. I’m 17, 5’7 and i weigh 115. A few months ago i weighed 130 and i never really watched what i ate or counted calories i just ate whenever i felt like it and whatever i wanted.. Ive always hated my body and the was i look so i started cutting back big time on junk food and sweets and i would exercise everyday.. i never really thought but about it until one day i stepped on the scale and saw that i had lost weight and i was so happy and i knew i had to keep it up if i wanted to stay like that.. and that’s when it all started. after that i started to barely eat i was probably eating around 600 calories a day and i was loosing more and more weight my family was noticing that i was barely eating i would always skip out on meals and grab an apple and just go sit in my room so i wouldn’t be tempted to eat when i saw them all eating bread sticks and pasta and stuff like that.. Idk after that i was getting so tired all the time and one day i just snapped and started walking around my kitchen eating everything! i’m not even kidding until i felt so sick i wanted to throw up and i would binge eat like that almost everyday i can’t help it. I feel so guilty afterwards.. ive cried so many times and ive tried making myself throw up but i can’t … Idk… I’m still going through that whole binge eating thing now. and idk what to do.. I really just want to go back to eating like a normal person and be healthy.. But my weight is going up and down and food and being skinny is all i think about now… I know that if this continues i’m going to end up really hurting myself .. Right now it’s not that bad but i know i will probably get worse.. I really want help.. Ive tried talking to my mom about it ive told her this same thing and she says she wants to help but all she does by helping is offering me food all the time. and i don’t want it… I told her i want to get help before it gets worse and maybe go to a therapist or something and she says no i can help you.. and she says that those people don’t care about helping and that they only want to take your money and whatever… Uh i just don’t know what to do… I need help

How can I lose 30 pounds in 75 Days(OR LESS)?

Posted in Kitchen Weighing Scales on September 10th, 2010 by Andrew – 2 Comments

I have a convention to go to in the very beginning of June, as well as my high school graduation, and my birthday at the end of the month. I want to lose 30 pounds by June 1st, starting today (March 18th). Since the beginning of the year, I have lost 10 pounds with on/off (mostly off DX ) dieting and exercising, so I know I can do it, I just don’t know if I am doing it right or hard enough to lose that much in time for June *or also if I could be doing something differently to lose even more or lose it even quicker*.
Right now I weigh 139 pounds, I am 5’1, 17, and female.
I still attend high school everyday from 6 until 11:15, then I work in a kitchen doing prep work from 1 until 5. Between the two I usually spend 30-60 minutes working out and I eat my lunch, which is usually about 200-400 calories. The workout I use is Jillian Micheal’s ’30-day Shred’, and sometimes ride a stationary bike for the rest of the 15 or 30 minutes at a speed that lets me burn 300 to 500 calories each session. After work, I eat a snack that is between 100 and 200 calories, then eat dinner around 8 or 9 -the calories are always different for dinner but never go over 500-. I never drink any calories, only diet soda or flavored water (or regular water), and I have cut out all candy and ice cream type things.
I weigh myself and tape measure my waist everyday at the beginning, middle, and end of the day in order to keep track of my weight, and I use both a bathroom scale and the Wii Fit Board to check the accuracy.
I currently don’t take any diet pills, but I am considering starting if I can find ones that work and don’t just make you crap yourself every time you eat(any suggestions?).
I have given myself the 75 days, but I would like to lose this weight as quickly as possible, and if anyone has any tips about how to speed it up or change my current workout/diet ways to make it more effective or faster-working, I would LOVE to hear them.
Sorry this is so long, I just wanted to give all the information I thought would be helpful or necessary. Thanks for reading it all, and I appreciate any advice you have! : D
If anyone thinks that pics would be helpful in giving advice, I can add those as well, I just didn’t want to stick them up here without them being necessary. :) Thanks again!

Why am I not losing weight?

Posted in Digital Food Scale on July 14th, 2010 by Andrew – 9 Comments

For over 2 weeks now, I have been eating a restricted diet (1200-1350 calories) that consists of 5-7 healthy meals per day (no fast food, junk food, etc.) and working out (both aerobic and strength training) approx. 4 days/week.

Each week I burned approx. 2000 calories through my workouts and am eating 200-300 calories less than what it would require to maintain my weight (1500 calories) each day. The two combined should give me a weight loss of about 1lb/week, However, I have lost no weight at all according to the digital scale.

If I stick to this regiment will I start to see weight loss or am I missing a key element?
